The main item on our shopping list is to expand our existing professional dance stage which is used for dance displays by hundreds of Morris dancer and folk dancers and others over the festival weekend.
Other equipment on our list includes a new printer for the festival office for printing signs, news letters, badges, etc. before and during the annual four day festival.
The temporary festival bar on the Recreation Ground would benefit from more benches freeing up more chairs for the Free Music Stage.
We aim to purchase a badge making machine to produce badges for stewards and to sell to festival goers. We also need more hi vis safety jackets and lanyards for our increasing number of stewards and workforce.
Finally we need to replace some old festival and information banners to clearly signpost venues and to publicise the festival generally.
All this equipment will enablle us to continue to promote Tenterden Folk Festival in a professional and safe manner.

Why it's a great idea:
Tenterden Folk Festival is the only dedicated music festival in Tenterden and one of the biggest and longest running festivals in the Ashford Borough. The festival is supported by Tenterden Town Council, Ashford Borough Council, Kent County Council and other local and regional organisations and businesses and the local community. The festival attracts visitors, tourists and festival goers from across the country to Tenterden to see and hear, enjoy and take part in traditional and contemporary folk song, music, dance, crafts and traditions.
Ticketed events include:
Thursday evening concert, concerts, barn dance, special shows, workshops, meet the guests, folk clubs, Sea songs and shanties session and much more
Free events include:
Craft & street stalls, free music stage, dance stage, Morris dancers, dance displays, procession, song & music sessions, street theatre, etc.
Everyone is welcome and there is something for everyone.

The Trust is a registered charity formed in May 1994 to preserve and advance public education and appreciation of traditional and contemporary folk music, song, dance and other related traditions, crafts and folk arts as a part of the living heritage. The Trust is supported by Tenterden Town Council, Ashford Borough Council and Kent County Council and an increasing number of local and regional businesses and other community organisations.
As well as the annual Tenterden Folk Festival the Trust promotes other one off events, runs a series of educational folk song and dance workshops in local schools, publishes the popular Around Kent Folk magazine in print and online, runs a free monthly folk song and music session in Tenterden and acts as a local folk development organisation.
