The project has started! Go to https://www.facebook.com/6MillionPlus to follow what is going on. Here you can find Adam Strickson, 6 million+ artist, reading a poem a poem on video every day (from yesterday) for 31 days. until our commemoration on July 11th. The poems are from his sequence 'Noisy are the Birds': each poem connects a bird that can be found in Bosnia and West Yorkshire with a man or boy murdered in Srebrenica in 1995. He begins with the woodpecker, and today it was the turn of the dipper.

A yellow trumpet flower from our Bosnian 'petal pattern' from a few years ago to announce our success. We are delighted to announce that our Growing Great Spaces Spacehive fundraising campaign has reached our required total. A huge thank you to everyone who has donated and helped to spread the word. Workshops start in Dewsbury on Saturday and we are looking forward to working with musicians Henry Parker and Sanja Cin, printmaker Karen Stansfield and community coordinator Mohsen Usyan. The final event, which the Mayor of Kirklees is attending, is at 2pm on Saturday July 11th in Dewsbury, and we'll be sending invitations out to the event nearer the time.

A grant from One Community that will appear on here towards the end of next week takes us just £911 away from our total but we still need to raise the remaining 10% or we will lose the generous Kirklees contribution. 11 days to do it! Lots of shares on social media - thanks for this - but we need those personal encouragements to your friends and colleagues. We'll get there!

Please help us get to our total in the next 13 days - we're doing well but need a final push.3 weeks ago

Here is Jasmina, our Bosnian trustee, speaking at one of our much valued 'Remembering Srebrenica' events. We still need to raise £2432 in the remaining 13 days of our fundraising campaign. We've done well but have only had 2 (generous) donations in the past 12 days. Tell your friends, keep sharing on social media and by email and we'll get over the line.
