The idea
It’s really hard to make new friends and the best way to do this is to get to know each other over hearty plates of seasonal food.
Imagine a warm atmosphere with long rows of tables adorned with gorgeous food cooked by local chefs, great cocktails, wine and a chance to meet new people.
We want to bring to the area that sense of fun and enjoyment when you go out for a great meal in Birmingham or Worcester. We want it to be somewhere where people can meet each other and make meaningful and long-lasting friendships that can build a real sense of community, helping to draw people together, making our local area an attractive place to live.
We know how important good friendships are. They sustain us and is the key to our emotional and physical health and wellbeing.
We plan to start feast nights this summer and base them at Simply limitless Wellbeing Centre in Kidderminster, which is located in a historic 19th century carpet factory, with plenty of character.
What we'll deliver

Why it's a great idea
We want to bring a sense of community for those who are feeling detached and would like to meet more people over good food. Feast Nights in the Wyre Forest’s primary target group are people in their 20’s and 30’s. They may be recent university graduates returning to the local area, young professionals, young parents, single people, or anyone still looking to find their way in the world. Loneliness, isolation and its associated effects on our physical and mental health are major issues amongst this age group. A recent yougov article showed that 30% of people born between 1981 and 1994 say they always or often feel lonely. There are limited opportunities within the Wyre Forest area for people within this age group to make friends and the challenge is to provide a fun way to meet people, to tackle isolation and beat loneliness.
Steps to get it done
