Currently around 90 properties in Wellow are connected to Cabinet 3 in Combe Down which is over 4km away. Due to this long distance broadband speeds for much of Wellow is less that 2Mbps at best and is subject to frequent interruption. We have received a quotation from BT for the installation of a new telephone Cabinet costing £7,578 (inc VAT) and 50% of this gap funding will be raised by the local community, 50% through a grant award from BT's Community Fibre Partnerships Grant Scheme.

What we'll deliver:

• Install a new fibre connected telephone Cabinet

Why it's a great idea:

It will greatly improve broadband speeds for 90 households. This will improve internet access for school children when they study for homework, improve connectivity for those in business and provide access to services which are increasingly being delivered online. These include medical, vehicle registration, etc
