pledged of £846

Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.

The Friends of Far Cotton Library have created a crowdfunding project to assist those local groups & individuals that are supporting our community during the Coronavirus outbreak. We've been inspired by the response from residents and local businesses towards providing help. The Far Cotton & Delapre Community Support Group is a typical example of our community already pulling together to support the most vulnerable in our area. The Friends have created a crowdfunding project so that residents whose circumstances allow, can donate to provide additional community support. All money raised will go directly to local community organisations such as the Far Cotton & Delapre Community Support Group, to ensure our older and most vulnerable residents get the assistance and help they need during this period. This includes essential food supplies, prescription collections and (safe) social contact.

What we'll deliver:

  • Help with food shopping
  • Prescription Collection
  • Social Contact via phone or internet
  • More active Volunteers in the Community

Why it's a great idea:

By providing financial support to local groups such as The Far Cotton & Delapre Support Group, we can improve what is offered & expand the network of volunteers working to look after the most vunerable in our community.

Steps to get it done:

  • Providing expenses to volunteers running errands

Greater financial support of this project could also expand out the offer of services that could be administered. For example, hot meals could be provided to those unable to cook.
