The idea
Aware that many families in our communities will be unable to afford summer holidays or even away days following the Covid-19 pandemic we would like to offer a series of 6 free themed family play days. Using themes such as At the Seaside, Lost in Space, Jungle Adventures, Discovering the Past, A Day at the Circus and the Community Olympics, we will provide a carousal of arts, crafts, sports, culture and healthy eating based activities, as well as a providing a themed picnic lunch for everyone. The activities will be designed for families to enjoy together, with soft touch educational tie ins to support on going learning. We hope these days will give families fun summer memories as we move in to the new normal, as well as bringing together community members and forming new support networks. We will also have representatives from various advocate services offering information around food banks, housing etc to offer support to those who may need it.
