Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.

A Digital Cinema Upgrade will enable Fairfield Flicks to reach out to more people by screening a wider selection of films and event cinema, including recent releases. Fairfield Flicks uses cinematic & live art to bring people together; creating a stronger, more vibrant & inclusive community that helps to reduce loneliness & social isolation that is experienced by people living across Bromsgrove & surrounding area. The initiative has grown & includes an increasing programme of diverse movie screenings, event cinema & live music. The friendly ambience, in a spacious rural venue with onsite car parking, is welcomed by many people who have commented that they feel safer attending a Fairfield Flicks event than if they had to visit a town or city.

What we'll deliver:

  • Immediate film releases
  • Wider programme of movies
  • More opportunities to volunteer
  • Greater opportunities to reduce loneliness & social isolation

Why it's a great idea:

A Digital Cinema upgrade will enable us to reach out & engage with more people, continuing our achievements to date: • Reducing loneliness & social isolation and the development of friendships between people who were once strangers. • Purposeful volunteering opportunities that help develop skills & values all-age contributions. • Encouraging more local engagement, helping to create a more vibrant community. • Reducing individual carbon footprint by walking to the village hall or not driving to an entertainment venue further away. • Audience members combining Fairfield Flicks visits with a meal at a nearby pub, thereby supporting the local economy. • Promoting inclusivity with subtitled/autism friendly/ LGBT+/Black History/Empower Women screenings. In a recent survey, undertaken earlier this year, 87% of respondents enjoyed the Fairfield Flicks experience.

Steps to get it done:

  • Buy DCI Project plus installation & operating equipment
  • Install DCI Projector & equipment
  • Book recent releases from Distributors
  • Market movies: Flyers, Website, Social Media, Press Releases
  • Sell tickets
  • Screen a recent releases

• We have introduced people to performing arts and movies that they would not have usually seen, and our programme includes both blockbuster and independent films. • Our inclusive venue, with wheelchair accessibility, hearing induction loop and dedicated subtitled screenings allows everyone to be part of & enjoy the Fairfield Flicks experience. • The village hall has seen an increase in ad-hoc bookings and people attending regular recreational activities, as a result of people attending Fairfield Flicks events. • A spin off from screening movies has been our monthly Live Music nights that gives emerging artists an opportunity to perform on stage with some of the region’s established musicians. • Digitalising Fairfield Flicks will help sustain this initiative in continuing its mission to help make a positive difference to people’s lives.
