The idea
We need funds to enable our community midwives to reach our inner city patients and provide both antenatal and pre natal care for our patients.
Liverpool Women's Hospital has committed to a green plan and using electric bikes to get our midwives to their patients fits with this agenda and allows flexibility and ease of travel for the midwives to reach patients in a timely manner
What we'll deliver
- 3 Branded Electric bikes
Why it's a great idea
The bikes will increase Liverpool Women's Hospital visibility in the community and remind people of the " call the midwife days" when all visits were made on bikes. It will increase efficiency and lessen wait times for our patients in the community and it will reduce car use and cars on the road.
The existing midwives bikes were recently stolen, leaving a huge gap in our community provision and we have no funds to be able to replace the bikes. Two replacement electric bikes will allow a return to full community visits and support for our patients, meaning new mums will not have to travel to the Hospital site - for standard appointments and check ups.
Steps to get it done
- 3 Bikes secured - means we can calculate how many miles we havent used cars for
The Bikes are a priority for Liverpool Women's Hospital and we hope to be able to reintroduce the community visits on electric bikes as soon as funding has been realised.
