Rotherhithe Garden Build & Summer School
Edible Rotherhithe is a new community project based in South East London. We are building a new garden with food growing facilities and delivering carpentry and D.I.Y. workshops to support wellbeing.
About the Project Creator
Edible Rotherhithe is a community garden and arts project that is being delivered in the London Borough of Southwark with disused land provided by the local council.
The project is being run by Edible Avondale SE1, a local organisation that arranges workshops, skills-swap, food growing activities, food education, DIY skills, events, meetings, knit and knatter and lots of other things along the way.
We work with people of all ages and aim to help increase the confidence, skills and well-being of local residents in and around South Bermondsey. Edible Avondale also supports people access local training, local training, employment and other developmental opportunities.

Store Projects are our partners on the project. The practice is made up of architects, artists, designers and focus on three key elements: an education programme of art and architecture courses, wide-ranging public events and exhibitions, and a socially engaged design practice.
Store are helping us design and build the community garden with food growing facilities, an outdoor cinema and story telling area and Summer Schools programme.

Our campaign is to raise funds for the initial stages of our garden build, the Summer School and to pay for a wood workshop technician.
The students who enrol at the Summer School will take part in workshops that help build and develop the garden, so funding this campaign helps support education which in turn produces a sustainable and long-lasting contribution to the local community of the Silverlock Estate.
