Edenfield CC have a commitment to delivering a long term goal of providing a sporting facility within the village of Edenfield. It is felt that by renovating the clubhouse this will make it more attractive as a venue for celebrations and parties. With the right vision it can become a real community asset and have the potential for wider use including an external classroom base and to create close ties with the local schools. Edenfield CC has a vision to further establish itself at the heart of the community of Edenfield Village. A destination to socialise or participate. With an ever growing junior section and the foundation of a social committee, the potential for events is evident. A very successful, popular and well attended Jubilee weekend was evidence that with an improved clubhouse the future of the club is very secure.

Why it's a great idea:

Edenfield Cricket Club believe a revitalised clubhouse with bring an influx of excitement and optimism to the club. After a tough few years and increasing costs we feel this is a great opportunity to make the club even more attractive to play for, to volunteer for, to hire as a venue and to take pride in. The club has been run for over 100 years by volunteers and attracting future volunteers that can continue to take pride in the club is essential. If we can improve the interior of the club this will give us an improved revenue stream to be able to reinvest back into the club. This would be a springboard to improve the kitchen and catering facilities as well as the outdoor space around the pitch to enjoy cricket and socialise. It will also give us a greater income stream to renovate the exterior of the cricket club and keep up with maintenance.

Steps to get it done:

• Remove existing flooring
• Recycle existing furniture
• Refurbish existing bar area
• Paint the full interior
• Replace flooring with hardwearing, commercial, longlasting flooring
• Purchase new interior furniture, tables, chairs and bar stools
• Create a new internal viewing area in order for visitors to watch the games

Edenfield Cricket Club reinvests everything it earns back into the running of the club, other than the Cricket Professional it has no paid members of staff. The bar, catering, maintenance, ground staff, players and coaches are all volunteers.
