The idea

An exciting project to establish an escape room at the charity owned Chantry Centre, using innovative gameplay to commemorate the 100-year legacy of the R A Lister Recreation & Social Club and its impact on Dursley. The initiative focuses on uniting the community by creating an interactive space that both celebrates local history and fosters skills development, knowledge application, and strong intergenerational connections. With collaborative efforts in designing, building, and promoting the escape room, participants can access opportunities for work experience, volunteering, and social engagement to combat loneliness. The resultant escape room will be a local attraction which strengthens community ties, boosts local economic activity (including supporting the Chantry Centre), and showcases Dursley's offerings to visitors and residents alike.
