We have two groups that meet every week. On Thursdays our maintenance, improvement and gardening group (MIG) meets at 10am. The group mainly looks after the gardens on Small Lime Walk and in front of the Park Life Cafe but we also litter pick, clean and repair signs and noticeboards and depending on the skills of the volunteers, do other job such as refurbishing benches.
FOTP Acorns meet at 10.30 on Saturdays for nature based, family activities including bird feeding, gardening, scavenger hunts, bug hunts and various trails as well as crafting and games.
We’ve made mini ponds, bug hotels, a scarecrow and the Old Man of The Woods out of clay among many other things.
The Friends put on events for the public such as trails and crafting at Christmas, Easter and during the Summer Holidays.
A group of Friends have made a mini Dragon Trail with wooden dragons and dragon silhouettes for a recent Nature Festival in the Park and it was very well received encouraging us to continue in our aim to install a permanent dragon sculpture trail.
