Help us digitise the Fans Museum collection so we can support those who are suffering from isolation, loneliness, autism and dementia by creating a digital museum so you can access it from your home
Our aspirations are to create a digital tour of the Fans Museum in Sunderland. To reach that goal we first need to create a digital log and photograph the whole collection. With your help we can start the process by cataloguing our most iconic items from Kevin Phillips' European Golden Boot to Jimmy Montgomery's European Cup winners medal. To create this we need to use professional collection management software and professional photography. Due to Covid-19, the Fans Museum has lost all of it's interaction with the community and travelling fans. By creating this digital project will enable us to interact again with our local community, as well as with anybody anywhere in the world.

Due to Covid-19, the Fans Museum has lost the ability to interact with the local community. By digitising the Fans Museum collection and bringing it online we will be able to bring the collection to the homes of the local community and beyond. We want to support those who suffer harder day to day remits such as dementia, autism, loneliness and isolation.

VolunteerThe Fans Museum is a community interest company with a direction to support education, health and wellbeing offering a safe and friendly environment, that much so we have a dedicated team of up to 52 volunteers who have been integral from day 1 since we received the keys. We have brought back back to life a Grade 2* listed building formally known as Monkwearmouth Station which was closed to the public. Whilst renovating the museum we have enabled a huge engagement of the community through our immense collection of football and social history memorabilia including items from VAUX, mining, locomotive and many other cultural aspects.
By having an open arms policy with no discrimination we have been a destination to support many with disabilities. We also have a very high outreach supporting care schemes, hospitals and education.
