The idea
We want to create a brand new Digi-Space for local young people to come and be creative, to use and develop their talents to realise their potential.
This will provide young people with state of the art equipment which they wouldn't normally have access to.
During the summer we will put on an exhibition to showcase the young people's work.
We are so excited about the prospect of getting project Digi-Space off the ground. Inspiring youngsters to discover, develop and celebrate their creative talents.
What we'll deliver
- Music Production courses for beginners x 3 pa
- Photography courses for beginners x 3 pa
- Annual exhibition of work produced in Music & Photography
- Provision of a 4 station Music Studio for development of skills in Music Technology & Production.
- Development of a Photography Studio with 4 stations for Students to develop skills in the Art of Photography and Imagery
- Projection facilities to aid in the presentation of student projects
- Summer exhibition of Art and Music created by students.
- Appointment of suitably qualified instructors to deliver the programs.
- A security package including secure access and CCTV is included in the package
Why it's a great idea
The centre has recently begun a process of refocusing its activities and the team see tremendous potential in its ability to continue to really make a difference in the lives of the members of its community.
One of our main goals is to reach out to teenagers and young adults in the local area by providing programs that appeal on an educational and recreational level, also potentially helping to develop skills relevant to the job market.
Equally important in a climate where mental health issues are on an increase among the young, the creative art forms of music and photography are well documented in playing a significant role in the relief of anxiety & stress management.
Whilst the initial target audience is teenagers and young adults we anticipate long term benefits for members of our community of all ages.
