Dandelion will be a beautiful dynamic sculpture for Kensal Rise. It launches a new art trail for the Queens Park/Kensal Rise area, so join us, help reach our target and lets make this happen!
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.

The wind sculpture Dandelion is made from 200 plastic drinks bottles. It will raise the artistic profile of Kensal Rise High Street while also promoting recycling and renewable energy.
We already have Brent Council Ward Working community money towards realizing the sculpture. Now we need help to raise a further £5000 towards installation, lighting and ten years of maintenance. Outdoor kinetic sculpture is costly. It has to be highly engineered and weatherproof, have substantial foundations and robust outdoor lighting and it must be annually maintained and cleaned every year to keep it turning.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Dandelion will kick start a major art trail in this very vibrant area. It will reconnect people passing by with the power of nature, promote renewable energy and recycling. Brent Council already has very good recycling policies in place across the Borough and this sculpture made from plastic fizzy drinks bottles will reflect this. The bottles are transformed from a waste problem that wont break down in land fill sites, into a beautiful art work that will blow you away!
Steps to get it done:
An application for planning permission is underway. If we are unsuccessful in our planning application we will find a new location for the sculpture.
