Getting ready to start...8 months ago

Hi all, We are getting ready to start, with XO Bikes prepping the initial candidates. We look forward to welcoming them. At the moment we still have some stuff to do to ready the work area for them but we hope to have a soft start in the coming weeks. Once up, running and confident then we will see about a proper project launch. Thank you so much for your contributions, support, belief and encouragement. Here's to building futures. Casey, Peri, Chicco and David

Amending our costs8 months ago

Hi all, Thanks for all your support and for helping us get this far. Here’s a progress update. We have come pretty far, getting almost ready for our first set of employees to join us, but we haven’t been able to hit our fundraising target, so we have rescaled to fit what we have got. We had planned to take in four trainees on rota for three months, but we are scaling this back to two. We can’t afford to wait, even for the funds to run at full scale because the bicycle retail industry is very seasonal, and we are quickly approaching the quiet season. This means that the opportunities to find onward employment are diminishing and this is the point of the programme. To this end, we will start with two employee trainees, and the shortfall in funding we will meet with added input from our private business, with the council still putting in half of the total sum. We will update you again once we have a start for the project, and will hope to see you drop in to make our new recruits feel the welcome.
