The idea
Online media has become an integral part of modern life. It provides incredible tools for promoting businesses, causes and creative projects. But without access to training, equipment and other resources it is difficult to produce something that will stand out.
We will provide courses in video editing, photo manipulation and other creative skills and the equipment to put those skills into practice. We will run a jobs board with both paid and volunteer projects to for those wanting to earn money and expand their portfolios.
On top of all this we will be launching a ‘first of it’s kind’ community led TV channel. The programming will be produced by and for the local community and will include programs for entertainment as well as informative shows that further education and social awareness.
What we'll deliver
- Give access to professional equipment
- Launch a community led tv channel
- Provide a space for the creative community
- Run a local creative jobs board
Why it's a great idea
The response we’ve had so far has been very positive. the reason for this is that there are many people and groups that can benefit. From creatives looking for a platform and a community of peers to small businesses looking for affordable marketing solutions, from viewers sick of mainstream media to community groups looking to raise support and awareness for their projects, there are many that can benefit from this endeavour.
Ultimately this project is about proving that this model is viable before exporting it across london and beyond. We believe that it is a good, sustainable idea that can be of great benefit to our community and we need the time, space and resources to prove that.
