We want to provide a media suite for the young people of Romford and surrounding areas, offering them fully supported structured six week sessions in the subjects of digital music and film.
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
Synergy has been providing support to the community for over 30 years; offering a wide range of treatments, all designed with one common goal: 'to improve health and wellbeing'. We have set up a new project, Synergy Media, where we wish to provide a media suite for the young people of Romford and surrounding areas, offering them fully supported structured six week sessions in the subject of digital music and film. This will help them raise their aspirations and develop their skills but will also allow the community of young people, the opportunity to produce their own digital music and create a film, mix with their peers, encourage them to visit other shops nearby and thereby encourage business growth. We are in situ in the Quadrant Arcade, Romford, and this Arcade can be part of the High Street and encourage shoppers if we are prepared to diversify with something different. Our media suite will promote the area and generate the community’s curiosity in what we can offer. This Arcade has lost its appeal and consequently its ‘footfall’ too. Other businesses are struggling, and our new media suite will create interest to the local community. We will offer two 6-week introductory courses in Digital Music Production and Digital Film Making over a course of 6 weeks. Supervise an evening open session when it is 'late night' opening in which the community can access the media facilities for work on their curriculum or personal music and film project. We shall deliver an exciting calendar of events – working with local artists to display their art work in the media suite. In turn this will provide enjoyment for the community and also encourage the young people to volunteer and help with the Production courses.
This will benefit the 'High Sreet', as it will bring more foot fall to the Arcade : It will benefit the young people and encourage them to have an interest in music and film : Being so close to Romford Market it will provide an additional reason for people to visit Romford Arcade and it needs regeneration: Encourage the local community to return to local high street shopping rather than shopping at Retail parks nearby
