Hello there! My name is Hanna and I'm a Forest School Leader.
I have 5 years forest school experience and have worked with children for over 25 years. I have also worked alongside my mother as a willow artist. My mother 'Sara' runs a successful business in willow sculpture & craft. Over the years we have both delivered willow sculpture & craft based lessons in schools, privately and at community events, we also host them on our land.
For 4 years I worked at a college supporting young learners with special educational needs where I found craft based lessons and a creative approach to be a helpful teaching aid.
Im a single parent and previously homeschooled. I have always loved the outdoors, working with children and teaching them about nature & the outdoors. The idea of becoming a Forest School Leader sounded like the perfect job as I knew I could combine both my passions and experience. I completed my Level 3 Forest school leading back in 2020 and have since then been working independently.
Back in September my mother bought a small pocket of woodland in Pirbright village. Up until then I had really struggled to find somewhere where I could begin putting my vision of a forest school into place.
We have worked hard to clear the land and put some infrastructure in place. We have achieved quite a lot in a short space of time. Installing a fire pit area with log seats, a parachute for shelter on rainy days, a nature pond, a mud kitchen, compost toilet and veg patch with greenhouse.
I want to be able to share this wonderful space with the local people and grow a friendly community of likeminded, nature loving families through nature based, art focused workshops family forest school sessions
