The idea
This project will allow children in Church Street to complete multiple activities across various days in order to create their very own finalised baskets using recycled and sustainable materials.
Children will be completing activities that will be both creative and most importantly useful skills to repeat with their friends and family afterwards!
Possible activities which will be delivered are;
- Memory boxes
- Bath bombs
- Bookmarks
... and many more!
After many months of lockdowns and isolation, these kinds of activities are just what our children need! The lack of socialisation and engagement that children faced during lockdown has meant that children are more inclined to technology rather than enagaging with eachother.
Activities will provide children the platform to safely socialise. In addition to this, children will be learning skills: manual dexterity, patience and creativity.
What we'll deliver
- 15 hours of activities
- 20 children attending each session
Why it's a great idea
It is clear that during the isolating time of the pandemic, many children have become unsocial and less active.
This project will allow children to learn skills and get their creativity going again as they learn the skills and use materials to build their own hamper. In addition to these craft activities, it will be a great opportunity to bring young people together again to socialise with their friends and enjoy time away from screens.
We will educate young people about the benefits of choosing sustainable items and recycling when crafting and creating.
Steps to get it done
- Run a successful crowdfunding campaign
- Reach our target
- Buy equipment & finalise bookings
- Promote the hamper sessions
There will be 15 hours of activities completed. These sessions will run in Church Street and will be open to children of ages 5-11.
