Creating a thriving community of crafters who will support and encourage other people to follow their passions in crafting and different art forms
Craft group is a project where we encourage members of the local community to get involved in different crafts from learning to crochet or knit to sewing or doing diamond art pictures. we also encourage people to come to group even if they don't feel like crafting just so that they're around other people, to try and elevate social isolation within our community. one of the biggest things I've noticed since lockdown is community spirit seems to be very very low and I want to try and help bring back a healthy happy environment for people. For them to learn to express themselves in whatever craft or art form they wish to use. I'm hoping that in raising money we can continue to support our current regular users and also encourage more of our local community and residents from around the Chester area to come and join us. we run on a Thursday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. if anyone would like any further information or details please don't hesitate to give me a shout.

Why it's a great idea:
To continue to support people getting back into there local community's and give them the confidence to try and do new and exciting things. To support those who need it into finding external help and support where needed. But the biggest thing is to create a community where people will support themselves and eachother and for those people to feel valued for who they are.
Steps to get it done:
We are also in talks with local schools and youth centres to encourage young people to gain new craft skills and maintain old dying craft forms.

VolunteerWe are a Craft Group that was founded 18 months ago to form a community within Blacon to support and encourage each other and to learn and pass on new and dying art forms. We aim to support any member that comes to the group no matter there abilitys. We also sign post and support any members with other issues be they mental health related, financial, housing or just support to engage socially.
Project Owner: Craft Group The Project Owner takes legal responsibility for receiving and spending the funds raised and ensuring the project is delivered.
