The idea
We want the festival to take us back to the hey-day of British summer fairs with traditional games, activities and stalls.
The event is being organised by the Cowcliffe and Fixby community group in conjunction with the 15th Huddersfield Scout group. The festival is planned for Sunday 5th June 2-5pm to coincide with the nationwide Big Jubilee Lunch event.
Bouncy castles, tin can alley, tombola, three legged race... The more funding we get, the more we can provide!
Monies raised will also go towards a free community afternoon tea for all who attend, sound system and porta-loo hire.
Local people will also be able to hire a stall for the afternoon to sell their own products or to raise money for their own charity/cause.
What we'll deliver
- Community Afternoon Tea
- Hire of sound equipment and toilets
- Hire of inflatables/games
Why it's a great idea
The festival will bring people in our community together to share, connect with others and have fun. During the last few challenging years our community has really united with the Christmas and scarecrow festivals. This event will strengthen and reinforce that community spirit for the benefit of everyone who lives here, young and old.
Steps to get it done
- buying/hiring equipment needed
- booking in stall holders
- site preparation
- the festival!
