The idea
Covid-19 has affected the whole world and recreational sport is no exception. As a Cricket Club we are facing the ever growing likeliness of our whole playing season cancelled to due Covid-19 which means we have no form of income. Whilst we have reduced our costs the best we can we still have Insurance and ground maintenance costs to pay out with nothing coming in as such we are looking to raise a small amount of money to help with our ongoing running costs. Any monies raised will all go towards improving our facilities and ensure the club is ready to start again once restrictions are lifted whether this be 2020 or 2021. It is our responsibility as a village club to ensure the cricket ground remains an attractive and safe place where the local community can visit with friends and family and enjoy the facility.
What we'll deliver
- • Improved seating facilities around the ground for spectators.
- • Maintain our ground, equipment & general facilities as well as improve the general look and feel.
- • Attempt to improve junior cricket participation in 2021 by introducing the All Stars/Dynamos cricket schemes.
Why it's a great idea
It will keep cricket alive and well in Gildersome catering for the current & next generation of cricketers. It will provide opportunities for people to become more active, reconnect and try build stronger links with the local community.
Steps to get it done
- Clear overgrown areas and install new seating around the perimeter of the ground.
