The idea
Contrast Mural Festival has facilitated the creation of over 200 murals since its inception in 2018.
We aim to be back for spring 2021 and to create a minimum of 50 mural artworks across Liverpool in the space of one week. (Date to be decided)
Contrast works with local businesses and organisations to source the funding, sponsorship and wall spaces, whilst gathering local, national & international artists who produce and share their artwork for the public at no fee.
The artworks brighten up an area, encouraging the public to explore the creations, in turn promoting footfall for business.
What we'll deliver
- A series of a minimum 50 mural artworks
- 2000 approx visitors per festival day
- Workshops for schools, youth and community groups
- Workshops for the general public
Why it's a great idea
We gather walls from private businesses, community organisations and individual owners.
We generate support from funders and sponsors...and in this case hopefully you!
We invite local, national and international artists to paint the walls of the city, whilst engaging local community groups and the public in workshops.
Culminating in a festival, the mural painting brings people together from all walks of life.
The legacy of the festival is to visually regenerate areas whilst bringing in people to view, increase foot fall to areas and businesses.
