GL11 Community Hub was founded in 2001 by local residents to reduce isolation, increase employability, improve wellbeing and bring people together in Cam and surrounding areas. We support one of the most economically deprived areas in Stroud District where 52% of our families live in social housing and 79% have low incomes or are on benefits.
As Stroud District's main community hub, we support people from 0 to 94, with 2,125 monthly visitors to our hub and 375 through outreach. Our innovative community hubs model coordinates ten smaller hubs across the district—together we reached 22,348 people in 2024/25.
Being embedded in our place means our services respond to what people actually need. We deliver NHS mental health services, money advice that brought £462,000 back into our community last year, and food services alongside employment support and family programmes. We were named Best Community Project in the Stroud News & Journal Community Awards 2025.
