Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
The Bicycle Recycling project is a community-based program that aims to build a strong sense of community belonging and bridge the gap amongst the young people regardless of religion, ethnicity and social background. The project also provides industry standard training in Bicycle Mechanics that is accredited by the Streetwise Group. The project itself recycles and repairs bicycles that have been donated to us from various sources which include the Metropolitan and British Transport Police. The young people will each work towards repairing the bicycles and once this has been achieved the bicycle itself will either be presented to the young person who as repaired it or donated to charity. The project will also involve setting up a Dr Bike where people from the local community can bring their bikes along to be serviced or repaired for free.
