Replacement of tennis court surfaces which have become very worn and are now dangerous to play on
Clitheoe Tennis Club has three artificial grass courts which are now in a very poor condition and have become very worn . We are looking to replace the surfaces with Tiger Turf Synthetic grass , a 'state of the art' replacement . The courts have had extensive community use over the years and have become a vital facility for Pendle Junior Primary School (located next door ) as this is the only outdoor area they can use for PE sessions when it is raining. The courts have also been used by local football and netball groups and other local schools for various activities. This is the only Tennis Club in the area and if we do not replace the courts in the very near future they will become too dangerous to play on.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Our club has been growing in recent years and is likley to increase in size given the rise in local population. As a section of Clitheroe Tennis and Bowling Club , the tennis section is an important part of a very important health and leisure facility in the town. If we are successful in our project we can offer our facilities to many other leisure activities as well as tennis and this can only be of great benefit to the local area. This will also be of great benefit to local schools who use the courts for PE sessions
