A new Art Festival for the Ribble Valley
Help us stage the first annual Festival of Contemporary Arts in Clitheroe showcasing the work of artists from near and far in a June celebration of creativity with events and exhibitions for everyone.
About the Project Creator
We are a group of volunteer creative professionals and self-confessed art obsessives who believe in the power of contemporary art to inspire and include, to ignite conversation and shift perception.
As many of the town’s shops and restaurants now stand empty in post-pandemic gloom, we remember the groundswell of excitement and optimism as cast and crew animated our streets with singing and dancing during the shoot for “Greatest Days,” an upcoming film based on the Take That songbook. People of every age and background came to see the spectacle and take part in a completely inclusive community event.
We are determined to revive a sense of optimism in the town; to energise unused spaces with film, sound art, paintings and events. We want to create a festival in which people from the whole community and beyond can take part and look forward to in years to come. We want to support the careers of young and emerging artists and to leave a legacy of public artworks and ongoing mentorship programmes.
