Terra Together is a Climate Education organisation based in Manchester. Our focus is simple: we help young people move from climate awareness to climate action. We believe that climate change is not only a technology problem, but a behaviour problem — and the earlier children learn how to make climate-positive choices, the more likely they are to carry those habits into adulthood, their homes, and their communities.
Our work is rooted in the fact that Greater Manchester has ambitious Net Zero goals, yet most schools do not currently have practical, hands-on programmes that connect climate learning to real-world change. Young people care deeply about the climate, but often do not know where to begin. Terra Together designs structured, fun, measurable climate missions that help students understand the impact of daily actions and see the results of positive habits.
We are launching the Climate Guardians programme as our first flagship initiative — beginning with the 4-Week Energy Drop Mission. Instead of simply teaching climate facts, Climate Guardians gives schools an easy, ready-to-run project where students track energy use, form “energy patrols”, change habits, and record the effect of their actions. This helps pupils experience climate impact as something they can influence directly — not something far away, complicated, or only for politicians and scientists.
We are running this campaign because this first pilot needs funding to provide materials, resources, printed assets, measurement sheets, certificates, and volunteer coordination. We want to make participation affordable and accessible for schools, especially those who may not have the budget to run sustainability projects independently.
Our long-term vision is to empower 100,000 young Climate Guardians per year in the UK, building toward one million by 2040. This pilot is the beginning of that journey — and with your support, Greater Manchester can help lead the way in creating a generation that understands not only the problem of climate change, but their personal power to shape solutions.
