Chorley Buddies Activity Buddies published their Delivery Report!6 months ago
Provide more and new activities for the local community. We currently run activities such as seated pilates, seated yoga and seated exercises. However, we need to broaden our reach and offer more.
Activity Buddies was born out of Lockdown and consists of accompanied walking, exercise and craft classes to combat social-isolation and lack of exercise regimes. We have been running Activity Buddies in several different locations across Chorley since restrictions lifted but our offering is limited and there are obvious gaps in the services that we offer and what we should offer in the future. We have asked our beneficiaries what types of activities they would enjoy doing and how this would benefit their mental health, social isolation etc. It has become apparent that activities such as yoga, pilates, zumba and more complex craft classes would be really beneficial and popular to our beneficiaries in Chorley. We currently provide lunch socials but, due to lack of funding, we rely heavily on donations from our beneficiaries to enable us to continue providing the service. With this funding, it would enable us to offer this provision for free which would be inclusive to all.

VolunteerSt Vincent’s Centre, Wirral, is a Community Support Centre based in the heart of Birkenhead, that supports Wirral residents through a range of services and activities.
At St Vincent's Centre we offer our own services, including our Community Café; Clothes Bank; Digital Support; Befriending chats; free activities such as our Vinnie's Pantry, Chess Club and Wellbeing Wednesday. We are also wanting to develop a Community Garden and Allotment, which will be supported by over 30 of our beneficiaries.
As well our own services and activities we share the building with numerous partners, including Wirral Foodbank, Citizen's Advice Wirral, Energy Project Plus, therefore delivering a joined-up provision for our beneficiaries.
Our partnership approach means that many of the client's needs can all be met, in one location, via a single point of access. The strength of our partnerships is driven by our common goals and combined strengths.
