Empowering local communities to crowdfund projects that create a vibrant and thriving Dudley borough
Replacement of our old van that is constantly off the road. This disrupts our food collection that we give to our service users
We are a Substance Misuse registered Charity serving the whole of the Dudley Borough. We are not a registered food bank but part of the food share project. Our amazing volunteer Alan drives our very old van to collect food from local suppliers and supermarkets. This food consists of vegetables, fruit, bakery, tinned food, pet food, baby products, frozen foods and more. This food is then distributed to our service users if they attend for an appointment and request a food parcel. With the cost of living still on the increase this is an invaluable service we offer. Unfortunately the van is very old and is constantly breaking down, sometimes we have been with out it for weeks on end meaning no food, this has had a real knock back for our service users and if this continues we will be with out a van completely meaning no more food share which would be a tragedy. We need a new Van desperately
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Help our service user with the increased cost of living and serve the community. Serving valuable vitamins in fruit and veg they may not be getting otherwise and healthy diets to the service user We have left over vegetables and food that could be used in a soup kitchen at our project so no food wastage and to improve the overall health and wellbeing of the community we serve. Ultimately having a positive impact and reducing the burden on local NHS services
