By Cathy's Wellbeing Club Community Interest Company
Our club has been formed to establish a true sense of Community through the 7 C's of Collaboration, Cooperation, Coaching, Communication, Creativity, Compassion and Celebration!
Each month Cathy's Wellbeing Club will run a face to face event in a variety of locations. The aim is to establish a true sense of Community and to help combat loneliness. In order to achieve this aim, we focus on the 7 C’s of: Cooperation: working together to support our wellbeing Collaboration: sharing our strengths and talents, and learning new skills from others Coaching: providing guidance and support to help each other grow, with special sessions from qualified coaches Creativity: encouraging artistic expression and innovative thinking Communication: promoting open, honest and supportive dialogue Compassion: demonstrating kindness and empathy towards people and animals Celebration: recognising and delighting in our individual and collective achievements. We currently offer virtual events that help us to meet those aims but the time is right for our club to offer face to face events that support our mission. Our face to face events will be decided upon by our members.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
When people have the opportunity to meet like minded people they feel valued. They are willing to learn new skills and share their talents with the group. Creating a true sense of community both on and offline helps to boost wellbeing and combat loneliness. The virtual wellbeing cafe was formed in 2021 to provide support for people following Lockdown. This has been a lifeline for people as they have been able to receive emotional support from one another even when they were unable to work or to leave their houses. This virtual support is on-going. people are at the stage now where they have built up a sense of belonging and they are eager to meet in person. This project will offer 12 events. each event will focus on a different aim of our club. People will attend the events that are most accessible to them. We will choose different locations to ensure that people have the opportunity to visit a venue within acceptable travelling distance to them.
Steps to get it done:
We will evaluate the success of each event and this will help us plan the next events. We are hoping that the events will help us demonstrate the need for our own venue. We are looking into the possibility of leasing or purchasing our own venue should necessary funding be secured.
