The idea
Independent neighbourhood restaurants and pubs are at the heart of every good high street, but with a financially challenging winter looming for us all, many need help to survive. Secret Feasts is a series of three events held monthly, focused on a different high street area each time. They will fill a broad selection of Camden's restaurants on quieter nights, bringing them valuable income while offering the local community affordable chances to get out and socialise together.
Local digital/print publication Camdenist will create and manage high visibility marketing campaigns to support these cherished establishments, producing videos, written editorial features, social media content and a dedicate print magazine. As well as promoting discovery and use of high streets during the events, this content can continue to be used to encourage repeat visits for many years to come.
What we'll deliver
- A series of 3 food and drink events with 100% of ticket sales going directly to the restaurants
- Full digital marketing campaigns, including promotional video-making, written content & social media support
- A 32-page high quality print magazine celebrating all the businesses and high streets involved
- Secret Feasts in Kentish Town, Belsize Village and Red Lion St/Holborn
Why it's a great idea
With your help, we'll give your local high street a real boost at the most difficult time of year, with extensive media coverage and fully managed ticketed events. Neighbourhood restaurants will benefit from content creation and marketing they otherwise can't afford, while potentially earning over £2k from table bookings for the associated event.
Socialising, wellbeing and mental health in the community will be supported by actively encouraging locals to connect and meet up with friends and neighbours on their high streets, rather than staying at home. Individuals and business stakeholders have an opportunity to directly support the vibrancy of their local high streets while also being able to enjoy the benefits of being part of the media promotions themselves.
We will create one-off experiences to demonstrate a thriving future for Camden’s high streets. Our aim is to develop the concept beyond the crowdfunded period to continue making a positive impact with further events.
Steps to get it done
- Decide which restaurants are participating and sign agreements
- Creation of digital press campaign materials including video and editorial for each event
- Ticketing landing page to go live and sales to be promoted via all channels
- Delivery of the 3 monthly food and drink events
- Publication of special magazine, distributed free to high street locations across the borough of Camden
