More about our impact
The environment
Young people and volunteers learn how they can combat climate change on their own doorsteps. Our plot is eco-friendly, through features such as home-grown food, which has a lower carbon footprint than that produced by conventional agriculture, rainwater butts, a compost bin, peat free compost, zero pesticides and the use of recycled materials for making planters.
Volunteering, jobs & education
The project offers a range of informal learning and skills development opportunities. It is carried out by three self employed local professionals with support from volunteers and sessional workers who have been be recruited from within the community.
Arts, culture & heritage
We include arts and crafts activities in all of our educational programmes.
Activity, health and leisure
This project offers opportunities for residents to take part in free light- to moderate intensity physical activity which will have positive effects on their overall wellbeing.
