The idea
Burpham Wellfest 2022, the wellbeing festival, will celebrate and share wellbeing in all its many forms for people of all ages and lifestages in Burpham and the surrounding areas.

It will be a fun and enjoyable day out for the community
What we'll deliver
- A talk tent featuring back to back talks to help educate people about wellbeing
- An arena where people can try various wellbeing activities to learn how to improve their wellbeing
- A showcase for local charities to help them reach new people and build awareness of what they do
- A platform for local wellbeing businesses to promote and grow the local economy with wellbeing at its heart
Why it's a great idea
Education - informing people about how they can bring more wellbeing into their everyday lives
Connection - connecting people with organisations that can bring more wellbeing into their every day lives
Activation - a community gathering that will in itself activate new associations for all the community
There will be a big focus on environment at the wellfest to educate people about lifestyle changes that can help the environment. Plus it's for locals so we're anticiapting most attendees will walk there.
By using the park & hall we'll be supporting them by paying hire charges & enabling people to see what can be done in the spaces.
A number of local arts groups will be showcasing their work & encourage local start their own artistic pursuits
#Environment is one of the wellbeing themes of the event and we will have talks and stalls given by Zero Carbon Guildford, CTK Recycling to educate about environmental measures visitors can implement straight away
Steps to get it done
- To secure 12 talks, 12 demonstrations and support 6 local wellbeing charities
Burpham Wellfest is an all-inclusive event offering free access to activities for all in order to promote the wellbeing of every individual & the community at large.
As such it will be a leveller for those who cannot easily access wellbeing
As a FREE event for the community in the community it will support those in need of help to access emotional support, educational input, experiential learning & more .
Some of the charities we will be supporting work with job seekers and the wellfest will be a forum for them to access and help people in need
By bringing the community together we'll be encouraging new connections and forging new bonds between local people and the organisations bringing wellbeing to them.
The culminative effect of this will be more care & compassion across the community
The day of wellfest will be an enjoyable day in itself & so have a positive impact on the emotional wellbeing of those there.
