Helping Horses Helping People Ltd (HHHP) is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2021 to provide mental health services through equine-assisted therapy. In partnership with Cheshire Horse Sanctuary (CHS), we create inclusive, therapeutic environments where horses help people heal.
We believe that connection - with horses, nature, and community - can be transformative. Based on the outskirts of Chester, we support people of all ages, particularly those facing emotional challenges, learning disabilities, or social isolation. We offer sessions that follow the internationally recognised Eagala Model: a non-riding, evidence-based approach led by mental health professionals and equine specialists.
Our flagship programme, Building Stronger Pathways, fills a critical gap for adults living with learning disabilities. It is estimated that over 5,100 people within the Cheshire West and Chester area live with learning disabilities - many of whom struggle to access services that meet their needs. Traditional clinical environments can feel intimidating, leaving people unsupported and socially disconnected. This programme offers an community-based outdoor alternative.
To deliver this programme effectively, the project will create four new jobs, strengthening the local workforce and ensuring high-quality support for participants.
This campaign will fund the programme’s first full year, ensuring it remains free and accessible to those who need it most. Funding will cover:

Staff uniforms, PPE and HEIR affiliation
Over 36 weeks, 48 adults living with learning disabilities will benefit.
