The Eastern Sudan Community Association (ESCA) is a registered charity (No. 1208905) led by and for people from the Eastern Sudanese and wider East African community in West London. Many of our members are refugees and migrants who have fled conflict, instability and hardship, and who now face challenges of isolation, language barriers and adapting to life in the UK. We have developed roots in Hammersmith and Fulham Council and have become a part of the local community.
Our goal is to support social inclusion, preserve cultural heritage, and build understanding between communities. We do this through cultural celebrations, youth and sports programmes, training, wellbeing activities and family-friendly events.
The charity ESCA diversifies its funding sources to support its activities, including:
1. Membership donations: Financial contributions from members to support the charity's initiatives.
2. Organizational partnerships: Support from local and international organizations aligned with the charity's mission.
3. Government funding: Grants received from government agencies to implement specific projects.
4. Public fundraising: Campaigns conducted in public spaces and online to raise funds for projects and activities.
5. These diverse funding streams empower the charity to deliver its services and achieve its community-focused objectives.
