We've had great interest to the idea of the mobile oven. This week we have had meetings with local bakers who have given the concept a dusty thumbs up. An idea surfaced to expand the training offering of an oven from youth offenders to include London schools. So as part of our marketing plan phase 2 we will target schools to book n bake our portable oven and we will throw in an artisan baker. Ok so not quite. But you get the idea!

Cob in the Community - CIC

Since 2008 we have built over 30 community ovens across London using local community and a fantastic local resource beneath our feet - London clay. Now it's time to go mobile with our ovens and on the road and via canal. To do that - we need you!

Help us fund the design, build and ISO test of a low impact, highly specialist portable urban oven! Your pledge - starting from one pound, will help us build, train and give employment opportunities - building and cooking - to those most in need! Help our network of London artisan bakers access comminity with one of our new mobile cob ovens. Help our London communities fundraise!

CIC is a not-for-profit community interest company made up of cob building experts and educational specialists.

Successful Projects where we engage local people include:

Sculpted story telling benches to promote understanding of ecology and diversity e.g. Vauxhall City Farm, and St Joseph's School Archway
Rocket Stove Cob Heated benches to promote learning of circular economies and sustainability e.g. Transition Heathrow, and our project partner "The Gaia Gallery"
Sculpture festivals e.g. Hackney Wicked, Angel Canal Festival
Working with schools and the national curriculum - e.g. waste as a resource to design and make a dinosaur bottle bench Lauriston School

Once built, we will work with our partner and sister organisations to offer training and employment opportunities to perpetual youth offenders and the unemployed.

'Build, book n bake' will deliver a portable oven and the option of a artisan teacher / trainee and teach communities how to bake or help them fundraise and bring community together. We need your support now!

We are the only organisation of our kind dedicated to using clay as a way to engage and regenerate communities in London.
