Midsummer Watch parade 2024
The Chester blogThe Midsummer Watch Parade returns to Chester on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June starting from Town Hall square at 2pm. The medieval parade is one of the country’s oldest and most colourful street parades dating from 1498.

More about our impact
The environment
We re-used an old caravan base rather than purchase a new one, and while some corex plastic has been used, rather than wood, this is so that the ship is waterproof, and will last longer than the last one. The last one was wooden and rooted after 20 years.
The local economy
The project will help the community as the new pirate ship will be useable as a float on the midsummer watch parades for many years to come

The project significantly adds to the midsummer parades that have a rich history going back over 500 years and contribute towards the Chester Heritage week
