The local economy

5 members of the group stayed at the the local hotel. A local café stayed open to provide a meal for the group between rehearsal and concert. No doubt audience members will have used local facilities too.

Volunteering, jobs & education

As well as our team of 15 established volunteers for the concert, an extra 6 volunteers joined us to help with organising the workshop - much appreciated.

Arts, culture & heritage

There was overwhelmingly positive feedback from audience and participants for both concert and workshop.

Activity, health and leisure

Some quotations from workshop participants make it clear how much they gained: “Well organised, professionally presented and provides a real sense of the community. Singing is good for mental health and this is a clear example of how it works.” [I learnt] “a much deeper knowledge of how to approach Renaissance music, Monteverdi particularly. An insight into tuning techniques hitherto unknown. A desire to be involved in much more of this type of music! Absolutely fabulous.” Since several workshop attendees were directors of local choirs and/or singing teachers it can be assumed that this learning will be more widely disseminated in the local area.
