Frith Youth Centre sits at the heart of Bussage, Stroud — a vibrant, welcoming space that belongs to the whole community. We are a charitable, non-profit organisation providing opportunities for young people, families, and older residents to connect, grow, and thrive. Our building is home to youth work, a warm room, community café, lunch club, and local activities that keep our village connected all year round.

We believe in inclusion, kindness, and opportunity for everyone. Our youth sessions give local young people a safe, supportive place to socialise, learn life skills, and access trusted adults for guidance. For many, Frith Youth Centre is their first experience of community belonging and leadership. Beyond youth work, our building transforms throughout the week into a space of warmth and care — welcoming older residents who come to share meals, conversation, and laughter.

At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to reducing isolation and improving wellbeing. Whether it’s a young person finding confidence, an older neighbour finding friendship, or a local charity hosting an event, the impact ripples through Bussage and Chalford. We make sure no one is left out or left behind.

We are led by a small, dedicated team of youth workers, volunteers, and trustees who care deeply about the people we serve. Every project is shaped by local voices — we listen to what our community needs and make it happen. Partnerships with Stroud District Council, Barnwood Trust, and local charities strengthen our reach and help us deliver lasting change.

Our main hall is the beating heart of the centre, used daily by youth groups, café visitors, and partner organisations. Yet poor acoustics have become a barrier to inclusion, making it hard for people to communicate and enjoy the connection we foster.

That’s why we’re launching “Breaking the Sound Barrier” — a community-led project to install acoustic panels and make our hall calm, safe, and accessible for all. This reflects who we are: people who care, take action, and work together to create change.
