Friends of Lancashire County Ensembles
About Us
The Friends of Lancashire County Ensembles is a registered charity committed to advancing the musical education of children and young people residing in Lancashire and Blackpool.
Our Mission
We believe that high-quality music education should be accessible to all—not just those who can afford it. Our mission is to remove financial barriers and create inclusive opportunities for musical growth, ensemble participation, and performance experiences.
Our Work
In partnership with Lancashire Music Service—the lead partner of the Lancashire Music Hub—we support a wide range of musical activities, including:
- Large-scale events such as Brass at the Seaside, which bring together hundreds of young musicians for public performances, giving them the oppotunity to play amongst members of the wider Brass community.
- Localised initiatives that foster community engagement and nurture emerging talent.
These activities not only enhance musical skills but also build confidence, teamwork, and a sense of belonging among young people.
Why Support Us
Every trustee on our board has experienced the transformative power of music—either personally or through their children. Our board includes alumni, professional musicians, educators, and parents, all united by a shared commitment to equity in music education.
We view BRass at the seaside a intergral to this mission, involving not only the young people of Lancashire but the whole community that we serve.
Impact
With your support, we can continue to:
- Provide Brass at the seaside as a wider community event, free to all.
- Ensure that our young musicians can particiapte in a formative event that is inclusive and multi-generational
- Strengthen the cultural fabric of Lancashire and the Fylde coast
