We want to empower young people to improve unused or under used spaces within their communities.
Brilliant news, thanks everyone!
Bradford Youth Space is a project where i would like to create a safe space for young people to come and enjoy themsleves and a place where they can gain help with vital skills needed in their future.
i have secured an unused lower ground space floor in central Bradford. This space currently needs work doing in order to make it safe and accessible for young people to use. The space is near Broadway shopping centre and Cineworld which will atrract many young people. I will be addressing the need that young people in my city have, about having access to a safe place that are low cost/free. The people that will benefit will be aged between 16-25. I am hoping to create a space where young people can come and socialise, also a space where they can gain help with schoolwork etc. I will be running workshops such as CV building and help with personal statements for those when applying to university.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
This is because there is no place like this where young people can go to. We previously ran a youth club like this in Bradford but the community centre which was used was unsupportive and were complaining about minor issues such as ball games. Therefore by securing this building and bringing it up to a safe and accessible place, these young people will have access to a safe space again.
Steps to get it done:
