Equipment and repairs for a much loved local bowls club.

The idea

In one form or another there has been a bowling club at Elmfield Park for over 100 years. The Harvesters / Eden Grove club have been playing on the green for decades, and need some new equipment and a contribution to some repairs needed through vandalism.

The club is open to all, but is currently characterised by an older membership, the regular games help to keep people fit, active and healthy, as well as providing a meeting place and focal point for the local community. Bowls are bowled, jokes are made, tea is drunk by the gallon, and a good time is had by all.

For a thousand pounds, the club can do what it needs to do to keep going for another season. If you can help, please do and - if you want to join - you are very welcome to come and see us!

What we'll deliver

  • Six calibrated jacks
  • Footer mats, target mats and measures
  • Switches for worm cast removal
  • Materials to repair damage from vanadalism

Why it's a great idea

We love our club, but we don't have the resources to get everything we need to have to continue to play in the league. By pledging, you will allow us to keep playing and keep staying fit and having fun, as well as continuing a tradition of bowls at Elmfield Park that goes back over a century.

Steps to get it done

  • Purchase of equipment
  • Repairs carried out
