Bonterre CIC is an alternative education and training provider based on an 8-acre small-holiding on Top Barn Farm.
We work with children with Special Education Needs and those who struggle in the mainstream classroom environment, due to challenges relating to mental health, social anxiety and behaviour. We use the land, animals and the natural world to engage with children and to work alongside them to form positive and trusting relationships. We aim to give children a changed perspective of their lives and to engender hope for their futures.
At Bonterre, we are passionate about helping people and hope to use our site to benefit as many people as possible. It is well understood and documented, and we have witnessed first hand, the positive impact that working outdoors, (particularly growing fruit, veg and flowers) can have on our mental health and general wellbeing. We are conscious that the site is really only used during school day and during school term time and we would like to open the site to adult groups, outside of school hours and therefore without compromising our safeguarding procedures.
