We are on a mission to bring exciting, low-cost and inclusive theatre to our local community, and create opportunities for anyone to experience the magic of bringing a show to the stage.
BODS is an ambitious community hub for every aspect of amateur theatre where individuals of all ages explore and develop their performing arts skills. Participants engage in workshops, improvised sessions, and rehearsals, culminating in two or three productions a year as well as festivals and competitions. BODS takes performances into the community. Our society is entirely volunteer-run. Our project aims to enrich our productions by buying better stage equipment, sets, costumes, and technical resources.

PRODUCTION ENHANCEMENT - a more engaging and professional experience to better entertain our audiences and provide low cost, accessible theatrical experiences to our community. SKILLS AND CONFIDENCE- new equipment will allow us to teach more theatrical skills giving participants confidence from learning to use professional quality resources. WELLBEING - Sharing the magic of bringing a show to the stage helps participants make new friends in our local area, and sharing the experience with our audiences gives our community the chance to share memorable experiences together.

The Wychwoods and surrounding area is a rural area, within it we have many elderly peoples homes, schools and local day centre and cafes for the isolated .

Dear BODS supporters, Thank you for supporting our campaign! We are so grateful for your support. Unfortunately we didn’t quite hit our target , which means we are not eligible for the larger pledges from WODC. However, we have been delighted to have received so many pledges from members of our community. As we didn’t hit our target, and in light of the strong community support your pledges have demonstrated, Spacehive have given us the option to put your pledges towards a scaled down version of our project. We will still be using the money to enhance the production values of our shows for the benefit of our members and our wider community. If you are happy for us to keep your pledge and use it for the scaled down version of our project, you don’t need to do anything. If you would like your pledge back, please contact us personally through our website email account. Thank you all so much.
