More about our impact
The environment
We were able to promote local environmental groups within the hub as well as advertise volunteering opportunities and place volunteers into local groups
The local economy
We enabled some key services and community groups in Blyth to use the hub free of charge to support local residents who were in need.
Volunteering, jobs & education
We had a twice weekly volunteer drop in session to advertise local volunteering opportunities and sign people and support them through their volunteering journey. We also advertised and put on training sessions and talks free of charge.
Arts, culture & heritage
Local groups used our hub during events and throughout the year to advertise their groups to develop their members
Activity, health and leisure
We had wellbeing events in the hub, showcasing local health services and groups, and provided free hygiene packs. We brought in groups such as seated exercises and boxing well. We had Social Prescribers in twice a week from local surgeries, and a menopause cafe, Northumberland Recovery College and Health Trainers in weekly, Our Wellbeing events have been a huge success, with over 20 services attending, providing residents support in all areas including sexual and mental health, various cancer awareness groups, rape crisis, to name a few.
