More about our impact
Volunteering, jobs & education
The project increased awareness of blind sports and how to make sports accessible. We provided volunteering opportunities for people to come and assist in the running of these blind sport sessions. They learnt about how to provide sighted guide, meet the needs of blind people and how to run sessions. Education was provided to members of the community who came to watch or participate in the sessions, even though they weren’t visually impaired.

Activity, health and leisure
Blind people face isolation and have poor physical health, mental health and self-esteem. Our weekly sessions enabled this to change by getting these people from across Lancashire out the house, participating in physical activity and meeting fellow blind people. This in turn improved all aspects of their health and social life.
