The Big Park Sleepover 2016

Explore a park at night! This is a FREE summer sleepover camping mini-festival for low income/local families in the heart of London's Myatt's Fields Park on Sunday 28th/Monday 29th August 2016.

We need people to offer skills, time or resources to develop this project. Check what’s needed below, then click ‘Volunteer’ to get involved.

  • Posh portaloos (with running water sinks) for 300 people for an 18 hour period.
  • 3 Arc Lights
  • 300 UV wristbands with Sleepover logo
  • 8-10 large fire bowls and kindling
  • Healthy snacks and hot/cold drinks for 250-300 people
  • A couple of small teams of on site medics to cover between 5pm - noon the next day.
  • Fresh high quality ethically sourced/grown food to feed 250-300 people dinner and breakfast.
  • Design and print of 5000 leaflets
  • An experienced photographer/video maker to record the event.
  • 1- 2 professional storytellers to see the little kids, and later the rather bigger rowdy kids to bed with a story round the camp fire.
  • 50-100 Tents (2-3 person and family tents), 150-200 sleeping bags/mats + 35-50sq ft of space to store them (in or near London)! 0R free hire of some or all of the above.
  • Help with fundraising, social media and/or sponsorship, donation of goods/services for the Sleepover.
  • Dry cleaning of 150-200 sleeping bags.
