Purchase a Bicycle-Bus to pick up and take kids to and from school, have healthier children, and promote a greener lifestyle
Many children are transported to and from school in cars -causing congestion at the school gate and extra cars on the road -a major fear for all pedestrians and cyclists on the school run. The Bicycle-Bus can take 10 passengers with one adult supervisor -powered by the passengers themselves, but supplemented with a battery pack that can be charged through our solar bank. Not only would the bicycle-bus save us money -no need for our 9 seater minibus-but would keep children fit and healthy, hit our targets of becoming green and can be used to encourage others to explore how they could become greener. The Bike will be used each school day to pick up children attending our outofschool scheme, in place of one of our minibuses and then be available to other groups on our down times who will pay initially for training and care of the bike, and then at a small cost to cover maintenance.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Less conjestion on the road during school runs More healthy fit children and young people Hitting targets for 'greening' the local town Encourage others to think green
Steps to get it done:
The bike bus can be used by other organisations to promote their green /healthy programmes.
